Tweeting Brooklyn: Amanda [VIDEO]

We’re not sure if Amanda knew what she was getting herself into …

Earlier this week, we held a twitter contest. (Yes, we’re on twitter. Follow us or die.) We asked our followers to do some retweeting for a chance to host a video at their favorite Brooklyn bar. At the end of the day, Amanda’s persistence, exuberance and creativity won us over.

We assumed Amanda would choose a bar on her turf. But Amanda lives in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens which, in her words, has just “two restaurants.” So after putting a lot of thought into this, she decided on the colorful Rosemary’s Greenpoint Tavern in Williamsburg.

Rosemary’s is a true dive bar. Many women would be unnerved by this. Not Amanda nor her friend who joined us on our excursion, Missy. Amanda and Missy are both Detroit natives who are fazed by little. They both ordered the house drink du jour: 32-ounce Bud Light drafts, served in styrofoam cups. (Missy finished her beer before Amanda was even halfway through hers. “I’m like a beer connoisseur; it’s like drinking nothing,” Missy quipped when I pointed this out.)
